Same Sex Kiss Day is April 15
Hurry, find a cutie and a Starbucks … today is national Same Sex Kiss Day!
Here’s the idea: April 15 (today) is Tax Day (the last day to file taxes). Since same-sex couples are not allowed to jointly file taxes, and since we’re not offered myriad other federal benefits, SameSexKissDay.org is organizing a nationwide non-violent showing of the LGBT population. They’re asking us all to stop in at a Starbucks today (at 7:15 a.m., 12:15 p.m., 5:15 p.m., or 8:15 p.m.), buy a cup of coffee, and then kiss someone of the same sex.
Why this will help: People vote against LGBT-friendly legislation because they do not know us and are not used to us. People who have gay friends and realize that we’re just like them are far more likely to be supportive of us. By getting out there and publicly displaying that there are LOTS of LGBT folks we can at least show the world that we’re out here.

i kind of like this, but then again i don’t like it either. i think that people should be able to kiss in public, but there are too many times that i see “i’m going to eat your face” make-outs that annoy me to death. i hope people enjoy participating in this, but please at least be decent about it.
I remember an “I’m going to eat your face” make out at the Lambda drag show? (j/k … I thought it was cute!)
But, honestly, I think this non-violent rally is a unique way to show everyone, “HELLO! We’re out here!” And I think that it’s just fabulous that Starbucks has agreed to be the hub for all of this. Just think about … the Starbucks in Wyoming are doing this, too! Imagine the looks they’ll get out there if they actually have participants.
