Boybutante Aids Foundation
The mission of the Boybutante AIDS Foundation, Inc. is to provide funding for (1) programs that provide services to people living with HIV/AIDS, and (2) educational programs targeted at HIV/AIDS prevention and/or elimination of prejudice and discrimination against HIV/AIDS-affected individuals. The cornerstone event of Boybutante’s fundraising efforts is the annual Boybutante Ball, held each April at the 40 Watt Club in downtown Athens. The 20th annual Ball was held on April 18, 2009.
Since its inception in 1989, the Boybutante AIDS Foundation, Inc. – along with its sponsors and the people who attend its events – has raised more than $530,000 for HIV/AIDS service organizations in Athens and Northeast Georgia.

AIDS Athens, Inc. serves to address the needs of individuals infected and affected by HIV/AIDS through supportive services and to prevent the spread of the disease through education and outreach.
Vision: AIDS Athens exists to enhance and enrich the quality of life for those living with HIV/AIDS, as well as their friends, families and partners. The organization also seeks to effect a fundamental change in society’s attitude toward persons infected with HIV/AIDS.
Service Area: AIDS Athens serves the 10-county Northeast Georgia Health District. This service area includes: Walton, Barrow, Greene, Clarke, Jackson, Morgan, Oconee, Madison, Elbert and Oglethorpe counties.
